Puranpoli is made in many parts of India such as Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa and South India. Its recipe varies from region to region but essentially remains as sweet stuffing called “Puran” inside a wheat flatbread or “Poli”.
A version shown here is traditional Maharashtrian. Stuffing is made from Split Bengal Gram and Jaggery. It is traditionally served with Ghee (Clarified Butter) or “Katachi Amti”. Here is the recipe:
