Shrikhand is a dessert made from hung curd. This dish is very popular in Maharashtra and Gujarat. There are many variations. One made from mango pulp is so unique that it has got its own name – Amrakhand.
While any variety of mango can be used to make Amrakhand, typically for better results it’s made from Alphonso mangoes. Mango is a seasonal fruit and by June its season ends. I had few mangoes of the season left and decided to make Amrakhand. Here is the recipe:
